Bad Poetry Friday

In 1998 I was obsessed with the film Great Expectations, the one with Gwyneth Paltrow and Ethan Hawke, specifically the soundtrack. Tori Amos had a song called “Siren” on there and it spoke to me so much that I basically rewrote the song in the form of a poem. For the record the song was better.

Siren 2/10/1998

She is a siren
Boy
she’s on fire
she’s on fire
burning you with a look
a smile
She is a siren
flaming jealousy
red-hot anger
She is a siren
fire in her eyes
Boy
she’ll burn you
if you touch her
