Before I launch into the first track of my new Inspiration Playlist, I have to share a dirty, little secret: I. Hate. The Beatles.
This is probably going to make everyone hate me, but I can’t help it. I find them overrated.
That said, my first track on my Inspiration Playlist, in honor of NaNoWriMo, is “Paperback Writer.” After all, this playlist isn’t about inspiring me, it’s about inspiring you to get through NaNoWriMo. And since pretty much everyone else on the planet loves the Beatles, I thought what the hell. The song is totally fitting. Most of us writing want to be paperback writers, right?
Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It’s based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writerIt’s the dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn’t understand
His son is working for the Daily Mail
It’s a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer
Paperback writerPaperback writer
It’s a thousand pages, give or take a few
I’ll be writing more in a week or two
I can make it longer if you like the style
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
How is NaNoWriMo going for you? By 11:59 p.m. tonight you should ideally be at 5001 words. Are you on track?
