Bad Poetry Friday

Pocket Full of Stars c 4/11/1998

At one time I had all the answers
I knew every line by heart
All at once my life fell apart
Shattering into pieces in a blink of an eye
Nobody saw the pain until I cried
I was Cinderella after the ball
who lost it all
when the magic ended
all I had left was
a pocket full of stars
and a handful of dreams.

I have a vague recollection of what this poem was about. Spring 1998 was a dark time in my life and probably one of the most prolific in terms of my poetry. I have an entire file folder of these poems on scraps of paper and as I retype them I have to figure out if the line breaks are intentional or the result of me running out of room.
